About the role

Booker Group are currently seeking a Data Analyst (IS Analyst - MIS) to join the MIS/Business Objects team. This role will cover key business reporting and data analysis. The IS Analyst will be key to helping deliver quality business reporting and analysis for key stakeholders to help improve cash profit and customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone with experience in Business Intelligence applications and a knowledge of SQL. The successful candidate will bring to the table a good mind for data analysis and reporting and have an eye for detail.

You will be responsible for

Health, Safe and Legal (Governance, Security and Controls):
•    Comply with change management procedures and system security.
•    Comply with all company policies, e.g. financial planning and control, health and safety.
•    Follow agreed procedures to resolve technical and procedural problems and escalate as required.
•    Comply with IT supplier contracts and licensing agreements to ensure we remain compliant with contractual terms and conditions.

Customer Satisfaction:
•    Work to identify issues that will or are impacting systems stability, availability and functionality, and then work promptly, jointly & proactively to mitigate and resolve such issues.
•    Prioritise and promptly resolve technical and procedural issues.
•    Specify enhancements to systems, log system deficiencies and then work to test the delivered software.
•    Work to reliably and efficiently produce timely and accurate management information.
•    Provide training and guidance to end users as required.
•    Work with colleagues, customers and suppliers to manage service perception and the understanding of IS services.
•    Work proactively with stakeholders to improve processes and maximise system asset utilization.
•    Work to deliver system improvements and projects to support the company's growth plans.
•    Work promptly, jointly & proactively on projects to improve cash profit & customer satisfaction.
•    Work to deliver approved projects in full to agreed budgets and timescales. 

Cash Profit:
•    Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve effective solutions.
•    Comply with procedures to store and re-use IS equipment effectively and efficiently.

Role Responsibilities:

•    Collaboration with colleagues to extrapolate and analyse data.
•    Proactively work with stakeholders to improve business reporting processes and to maximise system and data utilization in the business.
•    Work with 3rd parties and internal teams to build on automated reporting
•    Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve effective solutions.
•    Work to reliably and efficiently produce timely and accurate management information.
•    Work to deliver system improvements and projects to support the company's growth plans.
•    Work promptly, jointly & proactively on projects to improve cash profit & customer satisfaction.

You will need

•    Previous experience of working in an IT or Analyst role (ideally at least 2 years of experience in a similar role).
•    Experience in analytics, performing data exploration and designing, specifying and developing business reporting.
•    Good knowledge of Business Intelligence applications (such as SAP Business Objects/Azure/Tableau/Microsoft BI/Power BI).
•    Working knowledge of SQL.
•    Good understanding of data modelling and databases.
•    Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritise workload 
•    Demonstrate attention to detail and an ability to focus on quality of work
•    Possess good analytical skills, be a fast thinker and a good decision maker 
•    Good written and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues and suppliers.
•    Proactively engaging with team members, open and transparent approach and an enthusiastic team player
