About the role

Leading the day to day running of the shift within the Transport department, with the support of the Transport Assistant Shift Manager. Support the Transport Manager where necessary and leading the department in their absence. Responsible for ensuring that the operation runs smoothly and efficiently and leading the effective management of driver colleagues.

You will be responsible for

Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and develop a team of Assistant Shift Managers and colleagues.
  • Lead a busy shift ensure operational compliance and customer satisfaction
  • Achieve department KPI’s set by the business.
  • Problem solves, overcome obstacles that arise during your shift.
  • Always maintain total professionalism, whilst interacting with multiple colleagues and business departments.
  • Demonstrate great teamwork, effective communication to all levels. 
  • Carrying out business policy and procedures to ensure compliance. 
  • Ensure all legal compliance is adhered too. 
  • Monitoring and control finances within the department.
  • Drive business standards, ensure headcount achieves customer demands and deliver on objectives set by the business. 
  • Lead role when required as emergency coordinator. 
  • Analysis systems and data to effectively root cause.    
  • Monitoring depot temperature control system.   

You will need

Essential:

  • O-Licence Holder
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Office and administrative experience at management level.
  • High degree of confidentiality, accuracy & effective communication.
  • Ability to lead an effective team.
  • Ability to challenge influence and give feedback. 
  • Technical capability around systems and process flows. 
  • Intermediate level of all Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to build effective relationships within & across departments.
  • High level of problem solving.
  • High level of resilience.
  • Tachomaster and Microlise experience.

 

Desirable:

  • CPC trained qualification.
  • SAP experience.
